Helping out a displaced victim
Not too long after Hurrican Katrina, I was reading an article in our local paper in Connecticut that a single mother w/ 2 children were relocated to a relatives house in New Haven.
After doing a little research, and finding out the address, and which relative she was staying with, I wrote a personal check for $500.00 and mailed it to the young lady’s attention. I added a simple note saying: “I hope this will help you”
I wish i could’ve seen the look on her face…I slept a little better that night.
