Visiting someone in prison
I still remember the day that I checked my mailbox at church and in there was a note asking for someone to visit their daughter at our local prison. I told our pastor that I would visit her, not realizing that this would be an eight year commitment on my part.
This young lady was about my granddaughters age. Throughout the eight years, I spent many hours talking with her, writing letters to her, and we had many telephone conversations.
She is now out of prison and doing well. I hope and pray that through our friendship over the years that she saw Jesus in me.
