Mom with Cancer gets Second Chance

My story is that I was 4 months pregnant when I found I out I had cancer. Because the cancer spread so far, I had to start taking chemotherapy right away. Taking chemotherapy during pregnancy made for a very difficult time. But people helped our family through by bringing us meals, watching my son, going to appointments with me, and just listening when I needed to cry. During that time, I began to understand the true meaning of community.
After two months of chemotherapy, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. My treatment continued and after six months, I went into remission.
Having cancer was one of the hardest things that I have gone through, but it also helped me to realize the beauty of friendship, the value of community, and the gift of a second chance at life.
