One of the pastor’s at our church hosts a Community Group, it is really comical to see this married couple with four children have a house full of poor college students who adore their family.
Last year, the wife was in a car accident, thankfully she was okay but that put their family in a difficult financial spot with needing to fix the car and pay for doctor bills. She had mentioned the accident to a few of us that week. A few of us started scheming and send out a message to the group asking for a few dollars to give to the family that opens their home to us every week and loving us so well. I hoping we could give them $200, and we made sure it was cash because we knew they would not cash a check.
That Sunday at group we collected the money and decided to give it to them after group, we had to be nonchalant to make sure they didn’t catch on to what we were doing. Amazingly, we collected $1,000, we were all shocked and so thankful we were able to give them that much. We all went around the group and said our prayer requests, they had mentioned the accident and asking for provision. It was such a joy to be able to walk over to her and hand her an envelope full of cash. The look on her face was priceless. A group of 25 college kids and a few married couples gave a grand to a family who sacrifices so much on a daily basis. It was a blessing to be used by God to love that family
Community sharing each other’s blessings and burdens, knowing that we do not belong to ourselves.
God uses all circumstances to His Glory and for the good of those who love Him.
